almost done with a full site backup: all 4 mySQL databases and all other files on the server… i’m switching ISPs… already paid the fee..

well, the tech support person on chat didn’t solve the problem or shed any light other than saying “this could be a problem with mySQL”

my blog host (POWWEB) did some big updates today that affected file permissions— i think that is the root of my problems

@mguhlin if i want to upload my backup mysql, do i just rename that when i upload or do i have to do something to the file to rename?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to mguhlin

i’d rather be giving my full attention to episode 2 of ‘the war’ now that is on…

via Twitter Web Client

ah this is frustrating….

via Twitter Web Client

the root/public page won’t load at all tho

via Twitter Web Client

ok, i uploaded a fresh copy of wordpress to a subdirectory, using my same mysql database - all the dashboard/admin pages work great

@mguhlin thanks for the suggestions— i am trying to reconnect in a temp directory… at least i do have a full backup, that feels good…

via Twitter Web Client in reply to mguhlin

then i get the connection error again - strange also i don’t see the usual WP error screen on the root domain/public page, just the dashbd

via Twitter Web Client

here’s the strange behavior— when i reset my password in mysql, I CAN get my WP dashboard to come up for a couple of clicks

via Twitter Web Client

@aschmitz i’m not familiar with mysql optimize/repair table commands - do you have a link?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to aschmitz

@becksintex I like iSafe’s curriculum generally, tho i think the movie “predator” is over the top / not realistic and play up the fear…

@bhwilkoff no the databases are different… i did just get a backup with phpmyadmin

via Twitter Web Client in reply to bhwilkoff

via Twitter Web Client

i reset my pw in mysql, reset pw in wp-config.php - WAS able to get the dashboard up for awhile, but then i get the same error…

via Twitter Web Client
