@klmontgomery oh lovely. i’m going to be online for an hour or so and will get on skype. if we don’t talk tonight lets talk in the am…

via web in reply to klmontgomery

@klmontgomery hopefully you’ll have the storms without the funnels! Yikes it was exciting last night….

via web in reply to klmontgomery

@dctrcurry glad you all were safe in perkins! It was certainly an exciting evening. Looks like more storms are coming this week too.

via web in reply to dctrcurry

@cmduke those kinds of nights make for lasting memories for sure!

via web in reply to cmduke

Day 1 of our first Celebrate Oklahoma Voices workshop to be hosted at the Oklahoma Heritage Association in OKC is off to a GREAT start!

via web

@kkliegman thanks. we are relieved they missed us. from what we’ve seen on TV it looks like the damage was very limited, thankfully.

via web in reply to kkliegman

@john_larkin I’ve been watching our local channel 5 doppler radar coverage all night. on my iphone for radar I use http://tinyurl.com/348tf4

via web in reply to john_larkin

well, it looks like the storms have passed BARELY north of us. downed power lines in north edmond. time for bed. what a wild night/morning.

new tornado reported on the ground in north edmond, north of us. man. this is more exciting of an evening than i’d like for sure.

via web

now we have two suspected tornados west of us. tornado sirens have now stopped. they appear to be tracking west of us still.

via web

tornado sirens going off now. tornado on the ground west of us. should be tracking NW of us and miss us, moving at 35 mph.

via web

the great thing about living here in Tornado alley is our weather folks are totally on top of these storms, via doppler radar

via web

continuing to watch weather radar, there is some circulation, storm has 75 mph winds and baseball size hail. not here at our house yet tho.

via web

heavy rain is arriving, maybe hail but none yet… no more tornados reported in the last hour and a half…

via web

@cmduke I remember spending many nights sleeping in our basement growing up in Kansas, during tornado season…

via web in reply to cmduke

i’ve been playing with several iPhone web apps this evening as I watch the weather radar… I’m just amazed. WOW. and these are 1st gen!

via web

@dmantz7 yes, most definitely. i was in Greensburg about a month after the tornado hit. really unbelievable.

via web in reply to dmantz7

the heavy storms are now due in here (Edmond) closer to 1 am central time, in about 50 minutes

via web

@dmantz7 yep. everyone else has turned in. dogs are sacked out too! lightning is getting VERY bright.

via web in reply to dmantz7

@smartinez well, I suppose it could be used that way. but i have yet to hear of anyone being stalked on twitter.

via web in reply to smartinez

heavy hail and tornadic storms will be here in about 20-30 min… here is current radar graphic. yikes. http://tinyurl.com/2nhtcc

@dmantz7 @kevinessdack thanks for the good wishes. looks like this storm will be hitting us around midnight. an excuse to say up late…

via web in reply to dmantz7

@LsShanks thanks. this spring season is when it’s most exciting to live in tornado alley for sure.

via web

@julener by all means yes, please reference my blog in your ALI exhibit! :-)

why do so many presenters continue to put slides on the overhead that have 10 point font? this is ridiculous and SO ineffective…

via web in reply to dlaufenberg

@LsShanks I’m using a cell phone data card that uses a USB connection. I like that for a compatibility standpoint. http://tinyurl.com/27mhql

@nporter yes. many presenters don’t like digital multi-taskers. i’ve been with lots of folks who insist on ENTHRALLING the audience….

via web in reply to nporter

@wdeihl yep. that goes for computers too. my son couldn’t believe those Commodore 64 graphics were “cutting edge” at 1 time…

via web in reply to wdeihl

@shupester yes, the stove is a powerful and memorable teacher. an unpleasant teacher, but one we do not quickly forget.

via web in reply to shupester

@dlaufenberg is that a checkbook program for students you developed in-house, or got somewhere else?

via web in reply to dlaufenberg

how long does it take for the average new business in the US to make money? 3-5 years.

via web

@BarbInNebraska the debt elimination part is very similar to both dave ramsey and bruce ammons, but it is broader financial planning too

via web in reply to BarbInNebraska

@brasst following those old rules” is good, but our entire society is so toxic in terms of the immediate gratification we hear everywhere…

via web in reply to brasst

@dnorman well, let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. the bailout of that lending group by JP Morgan recently is certainly troubling.

via web

@shupester that is good. i took a personal finances course in college & it was excellent. problem was i didn’t apply much of what i learned

via web in reply to shupester

@mjmontagne absolutely. i learned about credit card debt, but still managed to get into lots of it. abstract learning is not enough tho…

via web in reply to mjmontagne

@jbennett4 that’s really a good idea. i think there is LOTS of need today for consulting help for folks with their multimedia presentations

via web in reply to jbennett4

thank goodness the presenter is using PPT now. with an overhead projector, i felt like i was back in high school in the 1980s…. :-( Yikes!

@coolcatteacher yep, you are EXACTLY right. It is easier and faster, so presenters do what is wrong… not good. bad modeling.

via web in reply to coolcatteacher

@dnorman Indeed. I’m yearning 4 Lessig style preso w images that the presenter can speak 2. I’ve found text heavy decks r common in business

via web

“we hire for attitude, train for skills” - I like that.

via web

leaders are readers, but they also take notes

via web

@McTeach ah yes-overhead projectors still rule the day in many places. overheads were provided at state edtech conf this year. no projectors

via web in reply to McTeach

now they are using powerpoint, and we’re about to see a video! good…

via web

what is the best program to use for taking notes on a Macintosh? spell check, searchable, and taggable entries would be good.

via web

@McTeach is this a trick question? elaborate more… 21st century of course :-)

via web in reply to McTeach

Maybe instructors use small font overheads because they’re simply easier to throw on the projector. Easy and time saving. But ineffective.

via web

@stevesoko is that stipend per year or semester?

via web in reply to stevesoko

why are we not teaching about debt elimination in our schools? maybe kids could help educate their parents…
