@ericswyatt it’s definitely still important to know how to use at times tho!

via Hootsuite

@ericswyatt I’m using WordPress now for 90% of the web stuff I do (and Google Sites for another 9%) so FTP seems a bit antiquated

via Hootsuite

@ericswyatt using FTP is the ‘yikes’… brings back circa-2001 flashbacks of editing webpages with notepad :-)

via Hootsuite

I’m using Cyberduck software (yikes!) to FTP my old Fulbright research papers from 1993 to a different web host wfryer.me/2c2

MT @jonbecker I want them [professors], and the knowledge they produce, to be as accessible as possible. That’s all I ask.

via Hootsuite

@jonbecker How can we get deans of colleges of education on board with publishing?

via Hootsuite in reply to jonbecker

@jonbecker I wonder what successful advocacy strategies are for publishing in colleges of education?

via Hootsuite in reply to jonbecker

@jonbecker that’s GREAT. And that is a big piece of what I’m talking about.

via Hootsuite in reply to jonbecker

@jonbecker I don’t see the groundswell of advocacy we need to move academics / academic publishing into OPEN ‘digital relevancy’

via Hootsuite in reply to jonbecker

@jonbecker I admit I’m using ‘relevance’ b/c it is a more ‘in your face’ term. I want academics to be relevant in a digital learning world

via Hootsuite in reply to jonbecker

@jonbecker It’s like comparing microfische to Google Scholar links. As a digital learner, there’s no question which I’ll use versus ignore

via Hootsuite in reply to jonbecker

@jonbecker hmmm, I can see how that sounds more harsh. Yet I think the issue IS relevance, especially for digital learners

@pbwarrick Here’s link 2that outstanding preso/video Kids Teaching Kids wfryer.me/2bx by @tianakad @mathtrain cc @MarzanoResearch

via Hootsuite

@jonbecker I’m in a very paper-based PD workshop today, so I think that’s why I said “digitally relevant”

via Hootsuite in reply to jonbecker

@jonbecker I used ‘relevant’ b/c to be useful at all, people need to have access to it. Limited access reduces relevance.

via Hootsuite in reply to jonbecker

@posterous PLEASE respond to this! Are all new Posterous account requests disabled officially? Is this forever or a temporary issue?

via Hootsuite

Irritating: When an “educational research article” ISN’T shared on the open web. This drastically reduces the digital relevance of the ideas
